4 injured in Hwy. 218 crash; suffer non-life threatening injuries; All sustained non-life threatening injuries

Four individuals were taken to the hospital after a two car crash Wednesday evening on Highway 218.
According to Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Troy Christianson, a two-vehicle accident occurred at about 9:08 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 218 and County Road 2 in Lansing Township. A 2017 Chrysler 200 was westbound on County Road 2 and a 2012 Jeep Wrangler was southbound on Highway 218 when they collided.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Fire Department, Gold Cross Ambulance Service and Minnesota Department of Transportation also responded to the scene.
According to Mower County Chief Deputy Mark May, the Chrysler failed to stop and struck the Jeep. Both vehicles ended up in a field on the west side of Highway 218.
The Jeep’s driver, Donald Roy Mackay, 40 of Austin, and passenger, Keegan Alexander Mackay, 10, of Austin, and the Chrysler’s driver, Cristina Argueyo Lopez, 22, of Austin, were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin with non-life threatening injuries. The Chrysler’s passenger, Negrete Padilla-Gerardo, 21, of Adams was flown to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester, according to Christianson.
The Minnesota State Patrol report indicates that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
