There was more holiday spirit to be had in feeling and in drinks, as the 12 Bars of Christmas brought in donations for a good cause.
The 12 Bars of Christmas fundraiser brought in $2,585.48, which will benefit Toys for Tots, according to Chelsey Lustig, Holiday Inn and Austin Conference Center general manager.
“We were able to raise over $2,000 for Toys for Tots, with all money staying local in Mower/Freeborn County,” Lustig said in an email.
This was the first Austin bar crawl that brought in proceeds benefiting Toys for Tots.
Participants were able to use a “Pub Passport” to collect stamps from each participating establishment that was visited, and t-shirts that were purchased for the bar crawl also acted as a ticket for a free safe shuttle throughout the evening.
If 12 stamps were collected, then the passport could be turned in at the final location for prizes.
