Election results, autism friendly community presentation on council agenda

The Austin City Council will vote on accepting the city results of the 2018 general election during its regular meeting on Monday.

The results of the Nov. 6 election for city offices were:

  • Council Member at Large – Jeff Austin
  • Council Member First Ward – Rebecca Waller
  • Council Member Second Ward – Jason Baskin
  • Council Member Third Ward – Joyce Poshusta
  • Utility Board Members (2) – Steve Greenman and Jeanne Sheehan

The council will also vote on setting the date for a public hearing on the 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan for 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018.

Community Autism Resource Specialist Mary Barinka will provide information to the council on Autism Friendly Austin during the work session following the regular meeting. Barinka will discuss autism awareness and methods for the community to make Austin friendly toward those diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

The regular meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, in the Council Chambers located in the basement of City Hall. The work session will be held immediately following the meeting in the conference room across the hall from the Council Chamber.
