Donna J. Ditlevson, 83

Donna June was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Ellendale, Minnesota, to Oren and Catherine (Herron) Allen. She attended school at the Farr schoolhouse through eighth grade and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1953. Donna then began working at Cenex of Blooming Prairie (Central Co-Op). While working, she met Lynwood Ditlevson. They were married on April 21, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newry, Minnesota. Donna continued working until the birth of their first child, then happily filled her role as wife and mother of seven children. After the children were older, Donna returned to the workforce as a nurse’s aide at Prairie Manor and later in housekeeping. She retired after more than 30 years of service. Lynwood passed away in 1981. In her leisure time, Donna enjoyed gardening and she loved to take walks. An excellent cook, Donna baked pies or cookies every Saturday morning and canned many jars of fruits and vegetables. The Ditlevsons belonged to St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie, where Donna served on the CCW. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Survivors include her sons, Dan Ditlevson of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Rick (Karen) Ditlevson of Owatonna, Minnesota, and Scott (Diane) Ditlevson of Byron, Minnesota; her daughters, Debbie Krell of Las Vegas, Nevada, Shelly (Scott) Noble and Lori (Tim) Pirkl, both of Blooming Prairie; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Terri) Allen of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Joe (Ellen) Allen of Kasson, Minnesota; sister, Mary (Richard) Dahlke of Dassel, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lynwood; her son, Jeffrey; and her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Ditlevson.
