Delora June Boomgard, 93, of Duluth, Minnesota, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at the Bee Hive Homes in Duluth.

She was born May 19, 1925, to Benjamin and Stella Exe. Delora graduated from Hayfield High school in 1943. She furthered her education at Mankato Business College and, upon graduating, moved to Austin. On Aug. 8, 1948, she married Bob Boomgard in Hayfield, Minnesota. Their only child, Gregg, was born in 1955. Delora was a true career woman and was employed by Austin State Bank and Norwest Bank Systems. After ending her career in the mid-1970s, she became involved in many women’s organizations and clubs. In 1989, Delora and Bob built a home in Tofte, Minnesota, on the North Shore of Lake Superior. She enjoyed the cool temperatures and the fresh air the shore provided.

Delora is survived by her son, Gregg Boomgard of Duluth; grandson, Brandon; and sister, Maxine Lundene. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Stella Exe; and her husband, Bob.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor David Schreiber officiating. Friends may call for one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Old Concord Cemetery, West Concord, Minnesota.
