Bruins snap losing streak

The Austin Bruins snapped a cold streak as they beat the Bismarck Bobcats (11-7-1 overall) 5-1 in Riverside Arena Saturday.
Dante Sheriff scored a pair of goals in the win for the Bruins and he now has a team-high nine goals on the season.
Austin (12-5-0-3 overall) had scored a total of just three goals in its previous three games — which were all losses. The Bruins broke the game open when they scored three times in the third period to take a 4-1 lead.
Brett Miller stopped 25 of 26 shots in net for Austin, which will host the Chippewa Steel Friday and Saturday.
