BP man injured in auger accident

Adam Harber, 24, of Blooming Prairie was airlifted to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester after his leg was injured by an auger Tuesday morning.
According to Mower County Chief Deputy Mark May, deputies responded to an injury call at 10:44 a.m. on Tuesday at 51187 320th Street in Blooming Prairie. The property owner, Jay Peterson, said that Harber is a hired hand and was cleaning inside the grain bin when the accident occurred.
Peterson, who was standing outside the bin, said he thought Harber was clear of the auger and switched it on. He then heard Harber scream and immediately shut it off.
May said Harber had an open wound on his leg; however, the report did not indicate the extent of the injury. Harber was airlifted to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester by Mayo One.
Blooming Prairie Fire and Blooming Prairie Ambulance also responded to the scene.
