Michael Scott Fadden, 33, of Austin was charged on Tuesday in Mower County District Court with felony second-degree drugs-sale of 10 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to the court complaint, a confidential reliable informant (CRI) met with a narcotics officer and drug task force investigator on May 30 to arrange purchasing methamphetamine from an adult female.

The CRI and the woman agreed to meet with her “source” to buy the drugs. The CRI and his vehicle were searched and he was provided with buy money and an audio transmitter.

The CRI picked the woman up in the 200 block of First Avenue Southeast, then drove to Fadden’s residence in the 1500 block of 17th Avenue Southwest, the complaint states. Fadden entered the CRI’s vehicle and they drove to a residence in Albert Lea. The CRI gave Fadden the buy money and Fadden went into the residence, coming out 45 minutes later. They then drove back to Fadden’s residence, where Fadden gave the CRI the drugs.

The complaint states the CRI surrendered 12.714 grams of methamphetamine to police at a predetermined location and confirmed Fadden had sold him the drugs.

A review of Fadden’s criminal history shows prior convictions for drug possession and theft.

Fadden will appear in court again on Dec. 3.
