Through the month of October you can support The Hormel Institute’s cancer research by reaching for the pink pump at participating gas stations throughout Iowa and other states.

Three cents of every gallon of E15 sold at participating retailers during October will be donated to The Hormel Institute and the National Breast Cancer Foundation as part of Pink at the Pump.

Iowa Renewable Fuels Association and Iowa Corn Promotion Board have joined together for the third year to make Pink at the Pump possible.

Iowa Renewable Fuels Association and Iowa Corn Promotion Board have joined together for the third year to make Pink at the Pump possible. This year, for the first time, North Dakota Ethanol Council has brought Pink at the Pump to North Dakota retailers.

Nearby participating retailers include Fuel Time in St. Ansgar, Iowa, and Murphy USA in Mason City, Iowa.

This is the second year Pink at the Pump has benefitted The Hormel Institute. Funds raised by Pink at the Pump and other Paint the Town Pink events have funded $400,000 in breast cancer seed grants to fund innovative research at The Hormel Institute that would not otherwise be possible. The grants allow scientists to perform early research into new ideas, and then use those results to apply for larger national grants. The results of these studies can affect not only breast cancer, but other cancers as well.

Paint the Town Pink has raised nearly $1.5 million since 2011, and planning and early events have already kicked off for the 2019 campaign. In the past week, Runnings hosted its annual Ladies Night, which benefits Paint the Town Pink, and the steering committee met to set the course for the upcoming season.
