Marguerite M. Hallman, 98, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at Our House Assisted Senior Living in Austin.

Marguerite Marie Hallman was born on Dec. 24, 1919, in Austin, the daughter of Fay and Laura (Loomis) Snyder. She attended school in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1937. She then attended Austin Junior College. After working in Washington, D.C. during the war, she returned to Austin. In June 1945, she married U.S. Army Air Corps Capt. Paul Hallman. After serving five more years in the Air Force, they returned to Austin to make their home. The marriage was dissolved in 1972. She was employed by the Mower County Public Health Service and later by the Mower County Senior Center working in the craft room for 19 years.  She loved gardening, sewing and crafts.

Survivors are two sons, Paul of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Wayne of Santa Rosa, California; sister, Shirley Earl of Austin; and daughter-in-law, Katherine Westphal of Santa Rosa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fay and Laura Snyder.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin with Pastor Dennis Tamke officiating. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
