The Austin girls soccer team closed out its regular season with a loss to Kasson-Mantorville by a score of 1-0 in Art Hass Stadium Saturday.
The KoMets (5-10-1 overall) scored the lone goal of the game when Kaylee Narveson collected a loose ball off of a corner kick and knocked it through for a goal with 17:35 left in the first half.
The Packers (1-13-1 overall) fired off nine shots in the loss and Grace Mayer had a good look stopped with 17 minutes left in the game.

“We feel really good about today’s game,” Austin head coach Jake Levisen said. “We definitely out-passed and out-worked them today. The ball just didn’t bounce our way. The goal that they had could’ve easily been prevented and that’s one of those weaknesses we’ve talked about this season. We’ve got to attack every 50-50 ball.”

Robin Weaver stopped four of the five shots she saw in net for Austin and Cassity Nangle stopped all eight of the shots she saw.

Austin will open Section 1A tournament play on Tuesday.

“They’re working hard and I’m excited to see what sections will bring,” Levisen said.
