Austin’s Oritz is a finalist for Mr. Soccer award

Austin senior Kevin Ortiz is one of the five finalists for Mr. Soccer, an award presented by the Minnesota High School Soccer Coaches Association, for Class A.
Ortiz, a senior midfielder for the Packers who was an All-State selection last year, has led the Packers to the top seed in Section 1A. Austin will host Byron in a Section 1A semifinal at 7 p.m. tonight.
The other Class A boys nominees include: Helio DeLaTorre of Mahtomedi, Herbert Endeley of attacker from Totino-Grace, Micahel Ennis of Trinity, and Eric Lagos of St. Paul Academy and Summit.
Winner’s for both classes of boys and girls will be announced on Sunday.
