United Way of Mower Co. Community celebration and campaign kickoff

For those looking to make a difference, there’s two upcoming United Way of Mower County events to mark down on the calendar for later this month.

Throughout September, United Way of Mower County volunteers have been pitching in to build on last year’s successes of Days of Caring. In 2017, 120 volunteers donated more than 500 hours of time to Catherwood Home Childcare. The month-long project ends on Sept. 29, which also is the United Way’s Community Celebration and Campaign Kickoff. United Way’s Day of Caring’s final projects will happen between 9 a.m. to noon.

During this time, United Way Executive Director Diane Baker will announce the 2018-19 campaign goal, and attendees will hear from the United Way partner agencies, board members and funded program participants while also enjoying food, games and fun. The campaign kickoff will happen between 1 and 2 p.m.
