The Austin girls soccer team picked up its first win of the season when it blanked Rochester John Marshall (2-3-1 overall) 1-0 in Art Hass Stadium Tuesday.
Hope Dudycha scored the lone goal in the game for Austin (1-7 overall, 1-5 Big Nine) and it came off a string of passes.
“They trusted each other, they contained and they spread the field wild,” Austin head coach Jake Levisen said. “It was a non-stop attack. It was a big team effort. We were relentless on our attack tonight. I’m very proud of the girls with the effort they’re putting it in.”
Austin dominated the shot count in the win as the Packers controlled the ball on both ends of the field.
“Our defense worked really well and they helped control the tempo of the game,” Levisen said. “That allowed our mids and forwards to press the attack.”
