KSMQ Public Television announced that Carter Friesen will be its media production intern for the fall semester.
A senior at Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSUM), Friesen is majoring in mass media and film studies, focusing much of his work on visual storytelling. He has written and produced three short films and a music video and is on the Dean’s List at MSUM.
“Now more than ever, young people pursuing a career in the media know that their work is valued by the greater society,” said KSMQ President and CEO Eric Olson. “Through this continuing partnership with Minnesota State Mankato, KSMQ provides real-world experience that helps the student understand the important role mass media plays in a healthy democracy.”
The media partnership between KSMQ Public Television and MSUM has been in place since 2013.
At KSMQ, Friesen will create visual content for broadcast and assist with other production duties. He will receive college credit for his work at KSMQ.
