Keith E. Kamp, 64, of Austin, Minnesota, died at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018.

Keith E. Kamp, 64

Keith Edward Kamp was born June 17, 1954, in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Vernon and Mildred (Steile) Kamp. He attended elementary school in Brownsdale, Minnesota, and high school in Hayfield, Minnesota, where he was recently inducted into the Hayfield Hall of Fame for his football team’s undefeated 1971 season. He married Christine Diaz on March 11, 1979, and they had one son, Anthony. Keith and Christine were later divorced.

He did various jobs throughout his life and most recently was a bus driver for Heartland Express. Keith loved the outdoors and he especially loved going out to the Nature Center. He enjoyed biking all over town and he loved his occasional trips to Lanesboro, Minnesota, where he rode on the bike trails.

He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers; and two sisters.

Keith is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tony (Merritt) Kamp, Austin; grandson, Trevor Clennon; two brothers; seven sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and his special friend, Terry Barrett.

There will be a celebration of Keith’s life from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center in the Ruby Rupner Building.
