Gerald “Jerry” Wood, 79, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, died Aug. 26, 2018.

Jerry was born Nov. 12, 1938, and grew up in Austin, Minnesota. He attended Austin Senior High and served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960. Jerry worked for the Austin Utilities and then Abbott Northwestern Hospital. He retired in 2004 and traveled all over the United States before residing in Grove Ridge Resort in Dade City, Florida with Sharen.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Louise Wood.

Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife, Sharen Bondeson-Wood; son, Robert G. Wood and family; stepchildren, David (Toni) Bondeson, Donald (Renee) Bondeson, Deb (Rob Page) Notermann; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Service of Remembrance will take place at noon on Monday, Sept. 10 at Sunset Funeral Chapel, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd NE, Minneapolis. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Alzheimer’s Association and Good Samaritan Society of Inver Grove Heights.
