Three taken to hospital after car accident; Injuries appear to be non-life threatening

The drivers of two vehicles were cited after being involved in an accident on Friday that sent three people to the hospital.

According to Mower County Senior Sgt. Investigator Steve Sandvik, the accident occurred at about 9:21 p.m. at the intersection of 160th Street and 610th Avenue, west of Adams. A vehicle towing a trailer with two tractors, driven by a 17-year-old juvenile male from the Adams area, failed to stop at a stop sign and was t-boned by a passenger vehicle driven by Jennifer Marlow Chose, 44, of Rose Creek. Sandvik said the trailer’s brakes were not set properly.

Chose, the juvenile male, and the juvenile’s passenger, Asa Smith, 19, of the Adams area, received non-life threatening injuries. Mayo 1 transported the juvenile to Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, while Gold Cross Ambulance and Adams Ambulance transported Chose and Smith to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.

The Adams Police Department, Rose Creek Fire Department and Minnesota State Patrol also responded to the scene.

Sandvik said the juvenile was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and Chose was cited for driving after revocation of her license and having no proof of insurance.
