Sadie Brendle, 97, of Rose Creek, Minnesota, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville, Iowa.

Sadie was born Nov. 20, 1920, in Little Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Jake and Sadie (De Haan) Dykstra. She was married to Donald Brendle on June 2, 1939, in Sibley, Iowa. They lived in rural Sanborn, Iowa, until 1956, when they moved to a farm near Rose Creek.

Sadie was a farm wife and worked as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed gardening, mowing the lawn and crocheting. Sadie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dexter Township, Minnesota, and currently a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota.

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Jake and Sadie Dykstra; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry (Hap) and Dorothy Dykstra and Jerry and Adelaide Dykstra.

She is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann Milbrath, Ripon, Wisconsin, and Kathleen (Robert) Schroeder, Alexandra, South Dakota; son, Paul (Norma) Brendle, Ham Lake, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and special friends, The Lester Heller Family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 2103 8th Street SW in Austin, with Pastor Paul Welke officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
