Matchbox Children’s Theatre announces 44th season; Will begin with beloved Christmas classic

Matchbox Children’s Theatre will kick off its 44th Season with the Christmas classic “A Charlie Brown Christmas” by Charles M. Schulz.
Based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” was adapted to the stage by Eric Schaeffer.
Auditions will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, with performances scheduled for 7 p.m. on Dec. 7-8 and 2 p.m. on Dec. 9.
Other performances for this season include:
• “Snow White: The Queen’s Fair Daughter,” adapted by Max Bush, based on the Olenberg manuscript and early versions of the Brothers Grimm Tale, Feb. 15-17, 2019
• “The House at Pooh Corner,” by A.A. Milne, adapted by Bettye Knapp, April 5-7, 2019
• “Yankee Doodle A Musical Review,” by Aurand Harris with music by Mort Stine, Aug. 16-18, 2019
Ticket prices are $6 for students and $10 for adults. Season tickets are available for $20 for students, $30 for adults, and $80 for families (16 admittances).
All show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. All performances will be held at the Historic Paramount Theatre.
