Frank Allen Luthe, 84

Frank Allen Luthe, 84, of Pine River, Minnesota, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Lansing Township in Mower County, Minneosta, the son of George and Ressa (Montgomery) Luthe. Frank attended country school in Freeborn County, Minnesota, and Mower County before serving in the U.S. Army for just over three years. While in the military, he married Helma Zorbach at a Military Church in Hanau, Germany. After returning to the states, he farmed near his home farm in Lansing until 1964, at which time he began working at the Owatonna Canning Company. After retiring from the canning company, the couple moved to Pine River to enjoy their retirement.
Frank enjoyed fishing, fixing things or “tinkering,” as well as visiting with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Helma Luthe of Pine River; daughters, Linda (Larry) Suarez of Pleasant Hill, California, Jackie (Jeff) Jannings of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and Fay Luthe of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; son, Jim (Terri) Luthe of Owatonna, Minnesota; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Ardis) Luthe of Austin, Minnesota, Charlie (Barb) Luthe of Austin and John (Carol) Luthe of Marshalltown, Iowa; sister, Georgia (John) Vandenover of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Michaelson Funeral Home. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Michaelson Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Interment was in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
