Charles Slowinski, 86

Charles “Chuck” Slowinski, 86, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minnesota.
He was born in Armstrong, Iowa, on Aug. 6, 1932, to John and Stella (Syzmerick) Slowinski. His family moved to Minnesota when he was a child. As a youth, Chuck spent time with his brothers and thrived in participating in 4-H with his cattle.
In his adult years, he farmed ground in the Sargeant, Minnesota, Brownsdale and Waltham, Minnesota, areas with his brother and son.
After retirement, Chuck enjoyed spending time on the farm with his children and grandchildren. He would be seen on a daily basis driving the countryside, watching the farmers in the fields and having coffee with his friends. His Catholic faith was an important part of his life.
Charles is survived by his son, Steven (Denise) Slowinski of Byron, Minnesota, and grandchildren, Camryn and Courtney; daughter, Lori Lyson (Slowinski) of Fargo, North Dakota, and grandchildren, Chastity (Jeff) Linnertz, Stephanie Knutilla, Nicole (Jason) Jordahl, Matthew Milbrett, Michael Milbrett and Mitchell Milbrett, son, Chuck (Onalee) Slowinski of Mapleton, Minnesota, and grandchildren, Breanna (Adam) Drummer and Nathan Slowinski; brothers, Anthony (Patricia) Slowinski of Austin, Minnesota, and Paul (Barbara) Slowinski of Owatonna, Minnesota; his great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Rose Comer, Wallace, Frank, Joseph, Henry and Victor Slowinski.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com.
