Norma Jean Krull was born on May 11, 1931, on a family farm north of St. Michael’s Church in rural Waltham, Minnesota, to Enno and Orma (Nemitz) Krull. She attended school in Austin and in Brownsdale, Minnesota. On June 26, 1949, Jean married Lyle Priebe. To their union, three children were born. Jean enjoyed her role as a wife, mother and homemaker. Once her kids got older, she worked at Sears in Austin. Lyle passed away in 1990. In 1991, she married Lewis Dumke. For 58 years, Jean lived in Austin and then in April of 2014 she moved to Faribault, where she resided until her death. Jean was a long time member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. She was very dedicated to church and taught Sunday school for nine years. Every Tuesday she would quilt with the church quilting club. Jean loved to travel and traveled to 48 states. She also had a place in Florida, where she had a love for picking shells along the beach with her sister, Doris. Jean enjoyed reading, listening to southern gospel music, especially Bill Gaither, keeping a clean house and, most of all, the time spent with her beloved family and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Jean’s memory are her children, Rick (Diane Blanchard) Priebe of Pine Hurst, Idaho, Bill (Sharon) Priebe of Eagan, Minnesota, and Joni (Rich) Karnopp of Elysian, Minnesota; step-children, Brian (Kris) Dumke of Lancaster, California, Dale (Julia) Dumke of Lancaster and Glenda Dumke of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Jeff (Amanda) Stuart, Ben (Nikki) Blanchard, Nick (Brynn Freyler) Priebe, Matt (Tabby) Priebe and Jen Priebe; eight step-grandchildren, Callie (Bern) Eustice, Adam Karnopp, Molly (Daniel) Westby, Adam Dumke, Jiliann Dumke, Chris Venwald, Joseph Dumke and Jonathan Dumke; two great-grandchildren, Ethyn Stuart and Payton Stuart; four step-grandchildren, Emma Eustice, Jack Eustice, Alice Westby and Lucy Westby; brother, Larry (Susan) Krull of Nevis, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lyle Priebe; second husband, Lewis “Looie” Dumke; parents, Enno and Orma Krull; infant great-grandchild, Kaedyn Priebe; brother, Larry Krull; and sister, Doris (George) Garbisch.
