Police are looking for a suspect who stole two video gaming consoles, three game controls and four video games during a sales transaction Wednesday evening,

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, an officer took a theft report from a 19-year-old Austin male at 5:06 p.m. in the lobby of the Mower County Law Enforcement Center. The victim said he was selling a white Xbox 1 with a controller, and black PlayStation 4 with two controllers and four PlayStation 4 games online for a total of $650. He was contacted by a potential buyer with the online moniker “CTG,” who negotiated a price and payment with him. He then agreed to meet “CTG” at Bandshell Community Park to make the transaction.

When he arrived at the park with the items in a bag, he met with a black male in his early 20s who was approximately 5’ 10” tall with short black hair wearing jeans and a blue striped shirt. The victim said there was a second black male at the scene, but he did not interact with him.

The victim said “CTG” offered him an iPhone in exchange for the controllers, but he turned it down because he needed cash to pay rent. “CTG” told the victim to follow him to his house so he could get the cash, but as they were walking he grabbed the bag from the victim and ran. The second black male also ran. The victim said they ran in different directions and he was unable to keep up.

Police showed the victim photographs of several individuals and he identified one as the possible suspect, according to Krueger.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
