Penny S. Christianson (nee Dean), 60, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.

Penny Susan Dean was born on June 5, 1958, to Frederick and Thelma (Shoden) Dean in Dodge Center, Minnesota. She grew up in Hayfield, Minnesota, and lived in Austin since 1980. Penny worked at Regners Dry Cleaning and Hormel Foods in Austin. Her passions included woodworking, crafts, fishing and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her significant other, Scott King of Austin; children, Bonnie (Mark) Coughlin of Blooming Prairie, Nicole Stadig of Austin, Candace Christianson of Austin and John Christianson of Austin; nine grandchildren, Cierra, Skyler, Brenna, Mackenna, Olivia, David, Dylan, Peyton and Lily; brothers and sisters, Janet Fitzgerald of Byron, Minnesota, Mark (Nancy) Dean of Owatonna, Minnesota, Margie (Bob) Blood of Kasson, Minnesota, Nancy Dean of Hayfield, Beverly (Mike) O’Conner of Blooming Prairie and Gloria (Greg) Snider of Blooming Prairie; brother-in-law, Rory Zelinski of Mantorville, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Thelma Dean; her sister, June Zelinske; brother-in-law, Dick Fitzgerald; and her granddaughter, Kylie Mae Coughlin.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. Memorials can be directed to the family. Worlein Funeral Home in Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
