Mark Erik Wollenburg, 30, of Austin pleaded guilty to felony domestic assault by strangulation as part of a plea agreement on Monday in Mower County District Court.
He initially pleaded not guilty to the charge on June 11. A charge of misdemeanor domestic assault will be dismissed at the sentencing.
The court complaint states a deputy responded to a domestic call at 3:46 a.m. on May 28 in Lyle Township. He met a woman there who said Wollenburg had been “using meth again” and had accused her of using drugs and cheating on him. She alleged that he assaulted her, striking her in the face and choking her.
The officer photographed injuries to the woman’s arms, neck, face and ear, the complaint states.
Wollenburg will be sentenced on Oct. 4.
