Joyce Carol Fraser, 73

Joyce (Willmert) Fraser, 73, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2018, at Lakeview Ranch near Darwin, Minnesota.

Joyce was born on May 11, 1945, the third daughter of Ronald and Gladys (Alfson) Willmert. She graduated from Frost High School in 1963  and had training at the Business School in Mankato, Minnesota. Joyce worked at the welfare office in Blue Earth, Minnesota, the Albert Lea Foundry, First Bank Insurance in Austin, and Hormel in Austin.

Joyce married Richard S. Fraser on Jan. 20, 1973 at United Lutheran Church. They had two children, Alexander and Amanda.

Joyce loved to garden, watch movies and sports, travel and spend time with family and friends. Joyce enjoyed moving around, seeing new places and having new experiences.

She is survived by her son, Alexander Fraser; daughter, Amanda Fraser; three sisters, Kay ( Larry) Lloyd of Frost, Minnesota, Bonnie (Duane) Gartzke of Blue Earth and Lois Willmert of Winnebago, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews/great nieces and nephews. Joyce is also remembered by her husband’s family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and her parents, Ronald and Gladys Willmert.

Visitation/open house will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018, in the Community Room at the Frost School in Frost. Burial will be at 5:30 p.m. after the visitation/open house at United Lutheran Cemetery in Frost. Cards may be sent in care of Amanda Fraser, 7520 Cahill Road #318, Edina, MN 55439.
