Don’t forget, a concrete paving project on Interstate 35 near Faribault began Monday, July 9. I-35 motorists will encounter lane closures, head-to-head traffic, ramp detours and traffic delays – especially during peak traffic times.
Crews will pave approximately 4 miles of southbound I-35 from Rice County Road 9 to Highway 21 with an unbonded concrete overlay. Workers will also repave the Highway 21 exit ramp, extend the deceleration lane off southbound I-35 to Highway 21 and repair culverts along I-35.
Construction is expected to be completed in fall of 2018.
Plan ahead for expected delays and check www.511mn.org before you go for current traffic impacts, detour information and more.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
