Gary Groh Construction gets pedestrian improvement contract; Will do work at Oakland Place and 12th Street Southeast

The Austin City Council unanimously awarded Gary Groh Construction LLC a contract to do pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Oakland Place and 12th Street Southeast during its regular meeting on Monday evening.
The work will include the installation of a rapid flashing beacon system and pedestrian ramp improvements.
Gary Groh Construction LLC came in as the lowest bidder with a price of $31,128, which was lower than the city engineer’s estimate of $33,280.
Other bidders included Fox Electric at $32,586.89 and Doyle Conner Co. at $41,067.
The work will be paid for with a $14,000 grant from the Hormel Foundation, $7,000 from the city’s Capital Improvement Revolving Fund and $10,000 from the city’s miscellaneous concrete repair fund.
