The mission of Pacelli Catholic Schools focuses on three important words: faith, scholarship, and service. The 4th and 5th graders had the opportunity to fulfill all elements of that mission statement in one short music concert last Friday.
On May 25, the 4th and 5th graders went to Sacred Heart Health Care Facility to sing for the residents. The students were invited for the morning daily activity event. They started off the small concert highlighting the importance of their faith.
The songs emphasized how students choose, daily, to make the day of those around them with kind words and actions and by learning to play fair and have fun. They work very hard, every day, to build stronger relationships with their classmates. They work on being there for their friends, and choosing a great attitude simply because they are all Children of God.
The concert continued with songs remembering Memorial Day, the Ten Commandments, and the Fifty States.
The concert ended with the students reciting a prayer that blessed all of the residents. They passed out handmade cards to everyone before they left.
From this service project the students learned an important message that is summarized from the small quote of Aesop, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
