Margie A. Jensen, 87, of Austin, Minnesota, died Thursday, June 21, 2018, at St. Mark’s Living in Austin.

Margie Ann Grunwald was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Steele County, Minnesota, the daughter of Steve and Agnes (Olson) Grunwald. She grew up and attended school in Owatonna, Minnesota, graduating from Owatonna High School in 1948. On June 15, 1953, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Jensen in Osage, Iowa. They made their home in Austin, where Margie worked as a secretary for sixty years, spending forty years with the Richardson Law Office. Margie enjoyed bingo, card games, going to the casino and watching the Minnesota Twins. She especially enjoyed hosting family holidays for her extended family. Lawrence died on Sept. 14, 2007.

Margie is survived by four children, Cathie (Sheldon) Sayles of Austin, Nancy (Larry) Haukom of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Larry Jensen of Austin and Steve (Cindy) Jensen of Austin; six grandchildren, Chad (Laura) Sayles, Jeffrey (Chanda) Sayles, Lisa Haukom, Laura (Koen) Luinstra, Michelle Jensen and Michael (Tenille) Jensen; seven great-grandchildren, Natalie, Emily, Faith, Andrew, Eben, Drake and Kamden; three step-great-grandchildren, Kolbe, Kade and Magnolia; a brother, Kenneth Grunwald of Owatonna; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and one nephew.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Karen Behling officiating. Interment will be held at 9 a.m. in Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery in rural Austin prior to the service. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.
