LP loses early lead in Section 1A title tilt; Rushford-Peterson moves on to Class A state tournament

The Lyle-Pacelli Athletics baseball team looked to make a play for a Section 1A title against Rushford-Peterson Tuesday evening, but couldn’t complete the task.
Despite jumping to a 5-0 lead early, the Athletics saw its season come to an end as R-P claimed the title with a 7-6 win at Dick Seltz Field.

L-P would have had to win two games on the afternoon to make the Minnesota Class A State Baseball Tournament.
Bryce Strouf got the start for the Athletics, pitching six innings and giving up seven hits, four of them earned.
Cole Walter pitched the final distance.

Zach Bollingberg was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI while Tanner Murphy was 2-for-3 with a run scored, a double and an RBI.
