Legion splits doubleheader; Post 91 rebounds from 19-1 loss to get 10-7 win

The Post 91 Legion baseball team hosted a pair of games against Apple Valley Saturday at Marcusen Park.
Austin dropped the first game 19-1. Post 91 was only down 2-1 after three innings, but a four-run fourth inning by Apple Valley opened the floodgates.
Austin recorded just two hits in that contest coming from Pete Conner and AJ Mueller.
Michael O’Conner got the loss giving up three runs on three hits and walking three.
Austin rebounded in the second game, coming up with a 10-7 win.

Austin put up three runs in both the second and third innings and capped things with a four-run fifth inning.
Not that Apple Valley didn’t make things interesting as Austin had to stave off a late charge in sixth and seventh innings with three runs in both innings.
Drew Copley got the win, going three innings giving up just one run on four hits. He also went 2-for-2 at the place. Josi Both and Kadin Kneeskern also recorded two hits.
