Law enforcement is reminding citizens to lock their residences and vehicles after two Mower County burglaries.
According to Mower County Sergeant Investigator Steven Sandvik, the first burglary occurred on Monday in Brownsdale. Someone entered a garage and stole approximately $5 from the dashboard of a vehicle.
The garage service door and vehicle were both unlocked.
The second burglary occurred on Tuesday in Grand Meadow. According to Sandvik, someone had entered a residence and ransacked a child’s bedroom, though nothing appeared to have been stolen.
The house was unlocked at the time.
Sandvik stated it was important for citizens to secure their property, especially since school is out.
