Baseball: Packers move to within one win of state tournament

The Austin baseball team picked up two huge wins to keep its season alive as it beat Northfield 3-2 in 11 innings and topped Winona 6-2 in Red Wing Saturday.

The Packers (15-6 overall) are now one win from the Minnesota Class AAA State Baseball Tournament and they will play either Red Wing or Winona in the Section 1AAA title game in Red Wing at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jack Dankert picked up the win in both games on Saturday as he pitched nine and two-thirds of an inning without allowing a run.
