The Hayfield softball team continued its dominance of Section 1A as the Vikings locked up their fourth straight Section 1A title when they beat Wabasha-Kellogg 14-0 in five innings in Todd Park Thursday.
The win will send Hayfield to its fourth straight Minnesota Class A Softball Tournament, where the Vikings will begin play in Caswell Park in North Mankato Thursday at 1 p.m.
“We’ve got some unfinished business,” Hayfield senior Kate Kruger said.Kruger had a double in the win and senior Kelly Johnson added a three-run homer for the Vikings. Freshman Caitlynn Hendrickson pitched her second shutout of the postseason in the circle.
