Edward Olaf “Bud” Engen, 87, of rural Austin, Minnesota, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, at his home in Lansing Township, Minnesota.
Bud was born on April 9, 1931, in Austin to Clarence and Paula (Larson) Engen. He grew up on the family farm near Austin and graduated with the Class of 1949 from Austin High School. On Nov. 6, 1954, he was united in marriage to Frances Della Tollefson at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin. They raised their family and farmed in rural Austin. Frances passed away in December of 1987. On Dec. 20, 1998, Bud married Delores Anderson in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. Bud and Delores resided on their Lansing Township farm. He was a longtime member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, the Austin FFA Alumni and a past member of the Austin Moose Lodge 1735. Bud was an avid fisherman, treasuring his many years at the family cabin on Big Chippewa Lake near Alexandria, Minnesota. Bud will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
