Two arrested, one cited for drugs, paraphernalia

Two women were arrested and a third was cited after allegedly being found in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia on Tuesday.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, officers responded to a call of suspicious activity at 10:01 a.m. on Tuesday at 16th Avenue and Sixth Street Southeast, near Woodson Kindergarten Center. The caller believed drug activity was taking place in a black SUV parked at the location.
Officers found two adults in the front seat and three in the back seat, according to Krueger. Three of the individuals were arrested or cited.
Alissa Leann Fuentes, 19, of Rochester was arrested after telling the police there was a warrant for her arrest. She was also cited for allegedly being in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jessica Mae Curtis, 21, of Lime Springs, Iowa, who is on probation, was arrested after police allegedly found her to be in possession of Adderall (a schedule II drug) and a small amount of marijuana.
Bakign Nyikew, 19, of Austin was cited for alleged possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle and released.
Fuentes and Curtis are currently in Mower County Jail awaiting charges.
