Schammel, Thorson, are February Rotary Students of the Month

Abigail Schammel and Kristina Thorson were named February Students of the Month by the Austin Rotary.
Kristina Thorson
Schammel participates in several sports, is a member of several musical ensembles, and is the National Honor Society historian.
She said she feels that “Austin High School has provided [her] with many opportunities to challenge [herself] academically and explore topics that interest [her].”
Her future plans include attending Gustavus Adolphus College to double major in pre-medicine and athletic training.
Thorson is a member of Youth Leadership, National Honor Society, Link Crew, and multiple musical ensembles in addition to playing multiple sports.
She said her educational experience has helped her learn “that success only comes with hard work and determination.”
Her future plans include attending the University of St. Thomas to study either accounting or marketing.
