Elijah Joel Beckman, 30, of Rochester pleaded guilty to felony domestic assault as part of a plea agreement on Friday in Mower County District Court.

Elijah Joel Beckman, 30

Beckman was arrested in January for the assault that happened on Dec. 23 in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue Northeast in Racine. On that day, a Mower County deputy met with the victim, who said Beckman had arrived at the residence earlier in the day and got angry because she was upset he was leaving. He postured like he was going to hit her and she grabbed a pipe to defend herself. She said the next thing she remembered was being on the floor with Beckman telling her he was “sorry.” She said she “saw stars” and put ice on a lump on her face. The deputy observed a large bruised lump around her left eye.

A review of Beckman’s criminal history shows numerous prior convictions for criminal damage to property, fleeing a peace officer, financial transaction card fraud, theft, assault, and violating an order of protection.
