The Austin High School and Ellis Middle School jazz bands will perform an afternoon of Big Band music beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Frank W. Bridges Theatre at Riverland Community College.
The concert will be under the direction of high school band director, Christoph Dundas, and Ellis band director, Tim Davis. Performances include the AHS Packer Jazz, the Ellis Jazz Band, and AHS Jazz One.
A special feature will be performances of guest artists sponsored by the MacPhail Center for Music. They are percussionist Paul Babcock on drums, and vocalist Vicky Mountain, both from MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis.

Packer Jazz will join other performers from Austin High School, Ellis Middle School and the MacPhail Center for Music.
While the concert has previously been held at the Paramount Theatre, scheduling conflicts led to a search for an alternate space.
“We are very glad that there are many different places to perform in Austin,” Dundas said. “Even though it didn’t work out to perform at the Paramount this year, we are excited to perform in the Frank W. Bridges Theatre at Riverland.”
Tickets at the door are $9 for adults and $5 for students.
