Steven Anthony Moreno, 27, of Faribault was sentenced on Thursday in Mower County District Court to 13 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for felony fifth-degree drug possession. He received credit for 232 days served.

Judge Christa M. Daily issued the sentence.

Moreno was arrested on Aug. 9 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin after someone who knew there was a warrant out for his arrest informed police that he was at the facility. While searching Moreno, the officer found a container in his pocket. Inside were two plastic bags containing approximately 0.90 grams of methamphetamine. Moreno told the officer he forgot the meth was in his pocket.

A review of Moreno’s criminal history shows several prior convictions for drug possession.
