The Hayfield girls basketball team did a lot of things right, but it came up short in a 63-54 loss to Zumbrota-Mazeppa (15-6 overall, 7-5 HVL) in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (17-4 overall, 10-2 HVL) had 30 offensive rebounds and they were plus nine on turnovers, but they shot just 19-for-79 on field goals and eight-for-39 on three-pointers.
