The Hayfield boys basketball team couldn’t hang on to a double-digit second half lead as it lost to Zumbrota-Mazeppa (14-5 overall, 8-4 HVL) 76-65 on the road Friday.

The Vikings (1-18 overall, 0-11 HVL) led 43-28 in the second half, but ZM rallied back to tie the game at 53 and the Cougars closed things out down the stretch.

Hayfield’s Ryan Risius had 23 points as he went seven-for-nine on three pointers.
