Francis LaVerne Schnorenberg, 86

Francis LaVerne Schnorenberg, 86, of Kasson, Minnesota, and Mantorville, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Oak Terrace in North Mankato, Minnesota.

Francis was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Rose Creek, Minnesota, to Edward and Anna (Dunleavy) Schnorenberg. He graduated from Rose Creek High School and served two years in the U.S. Army. Francis joined IBM Rochester in 1956, where he met Mary M. Van Den Hemel. They were married on Nov. 26, 1960, and lived in Rochester, Minnesota, Kasson, Hayfield, Minnesota, and Mantorville.

Francis worked at IBM Rochester for 35 years, then retired and worked for Hayfield Window Company for several years.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, IBM Retirees Club, IBM Quarter Century Club, American Legion lifetime member, a 4-H MN Adult Volunteers Association lifetime member and a director on the Board of Fairview Cemetery of Hayfield, Inc.

Survivors include wife, Mary; sons, Roger, of Olivehurst, California, and Gary (Sandi) of Mankato, Minnesota; daughters, Lori Hartley (Mike) of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Lisa Christenson (Jon) of Kasson; sisters, Dorothy Schultz of Austin, Minnesota, and Maryanne Van Den Hemel of Owatonna, Minnesota; brother-in-law, George Van Den Hemel of Ozark, Arkansas; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernard (Betty) and Jerry (Ellen); sister Lillian (Rudy); and brothers-in-law Leonard and Leo Van Den Hemel.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Kasson with Father John Lasuba officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield with military honors by the American Legion. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities. Arrangements are with Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center, Minnesota.
