Donna E. Huinker, 95, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center.

Donna Elvira Olund was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Burleene Township, Todd County, Minnesota, the daughter of Elmer M. and Florence M. (Maher) Olund. She attended Todd County schools before moving to Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, with her sister and friends. On July 3, 1948, she married Willis H. Christensen at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church parsonage. Donna was employed by Hormel Foods Corporation and worked in the dairy pack for 42 years. Following Willis’ death, she married John T. Huinker in May 1987, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Donna was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and loved to dance. Donna’s family and friends will miss her dearly.

Survivors include her brothers, Dennis (Ann) Olund and Elmer (Marilyn) Olund, both of Austin; her sister, Geraldine (Roger) Tildsley of Turlock, California; her stepsister, Charlotte (Dennis) Kubicek of Austin; many nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Joel (Mary Dahl) Huinker of Austin, Christine (Gary) Thorson of Rochester, Minnesota, Joan (Mark) Flaherty of Rochester, Mark (Debi) Huinker of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Tim (Kris) Huinker of Waconia, Minnesota, and Jessica (Dan) Wampach of Stewartville, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by both husbands, Willis Christensen and John Huinker; her parents, Elmer and Florence Olund; one brother, Dale Olund; and four stepbrothers, Ron, Ted, Russell, and Jack Farrell.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Todd Portinga, Associate in Ministry, officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at Worlein Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
