Marquette D. Turner, 53 of Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully on Friday morning, Jan. 26, 2018, at his home.
Marquette was born Jan. 23, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa to Lance and Cheryl (Baldwin) Turner. He grew up in Iowa City, Iowa and graduated from Iowa City West High School. Marquette also earned his Associates Degree from Riverland College in Austin.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Marquette was employed by the Austin Country Club, Gerard of Minnesota and currently with the United States Postal Service in Albert Lea. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, listening to KFAN and blogging on Facebook. Marquette loved his Iowa Hawkeyes and was a proud member of the NRA. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, Cash. His friends and family will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his significant other, Christine Klein of Austin, his nephews; Matthew Klein of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mitchell Klein of Iowa City; his step-father, Al Pecinozsky of Decorah, Iowa and his step brothers; Butch Pecinozsky of Decorah, Iowa and Tom Pecinozsky of Cresco, Iowa, and many other close family members and a host of special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Timothy.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials to donor’s choice. Military honors will be performed by American Legion Post 91. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
