Man pleads guilty to drug charges; Arrested after selling to police informant

Corry Dexter Kranz, 27, of Austin, pleaded guilty on Wednesday in Mower County District Court to felony second-degree drug sales of 10 grams or more of a narcotic other than heroin within a 90-day period and felony fifth-degree drug possession. Both charges stemmed from separate incidents.

Kranz was charged with drug sales on Dec. 29, stemming from when he sold methamphetamine to a police informant on Dec. 28, 2016, and Jan. 4, 2017. He sold the informant a total of 17.579 grams of methamphetamine, which was surrendered to the police.

Kranz was charged with drug possession on June 14 after he led police on a chase while riding his bicycle the wrong way on Interstate 90. He was eventually caught in Oakwood Cemetery, where police found ½ gram of methamphetamine on him.
