Lawrence Allen Ingvaldson, 86, of Ellendale, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Koda Living Community in Owatonna, Minnesota.
Lawrence was born on March 2, 1931, to Melvin and Alma (Hendrickson) Ingvaldson in Newry Township near Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. He attended Newry Township country school. Lawrence was united in marriage to Marian Jean Hensrud on Feb. 24, 1952. They raised their family and farmed in Steele County. Lawrence was a dairy farmer and raised corn and soybeans and loved the farm life. He enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting, fishing and bird feeding.
Lawrence is survived by two sons, Douglas (Darise) Ingvaldson of Owatonna and Darrell (Diane) Ingvaldson of Austin, Minnesota; grandchildren, Christina Ingvaldson of Owatonna, Patrick (Jenny Hoffman) Ingvaldson of Owatonna, Nancy (Travis) Hamilton of Elkton, Minnesota, and Anne Ingvaldson of Duluth, Minnesota; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Ernie (Jean) Ingvaldson of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Jerry (Karen) Ingvaldson of Dodge Center, Minnesota, and LeRoy (Linda) Ingvaldson of Owatonna; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; parents, Melvin and Alma Ingvaldson; and sisters, Marion Hensrud and Betty at infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Sunday afternoon. Interment will follow the service at First Lutheran Cemetery in rural Blooming Prairie. Memorials can be directed to Koda Living Community of Owatonna, Heartland Hospice, or donor’s choice. Services are prearranged and performed by Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home.
