Janet I. (Walk) Mueller, 88, formerly of Lyle, Minnesota, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Pleasant Manor in Faribault, Minnesota.

Janet was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Popejoy, Iowa, to Gerhart and Irma (Bublitz) Gemaehlich. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1948. Janet married Lawrence Walk on Sept. 17, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, Iowa. She was a homemaker most of her life and raised six children. Later, she was a cook for 20 years at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home. On Nov. 6, 1995, she married Marvin Mueller at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota.

Janet was a very loving mother and grandmother. She loved camping and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lawrence Walk, in 1990; second husband, Marvin Mueller, in 2011; sister, Margaret Cowell; and great-grandson, Marcus Walk.

Janet is survived by her children, David (Sherry) Walk, Stewartville, Minnesota, Dean (Rose) Walk, Colfax, Wisconsin, Darlene (Don) Hanson, Rochester, Minnesota, Sharon Walk, Owatonna, Minnesota, Ronald (Karen) Walk, Rose Creek, Minnesota, and Sandra (David) Hildestad, Davenport, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 14  great-grandchildren; stepsons, Dan (Carol) Mueller, Mounds View, Minnesota, and Jeff (Tammy) Mueller, Coon Rapids, Minnesota; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Duane (Yvonne) Gemaehlich, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Leon (Doris) Gemaehlich, Charles City, Iowa; brother-in-law, Lee Cowell, St. Ansgar; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Elizabeth Endicott officiating. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, St. Ansgar. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday.
